I decided to start Flooph because I wanted a place to share my interests and hobbies with the world. I have come across many items that I love and enjoy and wanted to be able to let other people enjoy these things as well.

This is my first post on Flooph. I have a vision for what this site will eventually be but for now I guess it’s going to be a stream of consciousness of products that I love and recommend. I have personally tried these products and think they are great - there are no sponsorships here so you can trust these are things I personally enjoy without the bias of some paid advertising.
Lately, I have bought a number of apparel products that are made of a material called Modal. Modal is a semi-synthetic fabric made from regenerated cellulose, specifically from beech tree pulp. It is part of the rayon family but is known for being softer, stronger, and more durable than standard rayon. I’ve noticed that some items are mixed with other fabrics like cotton or polyester but whatever it is mixed with it seems to come out with a silky, soft feel that is really spectacular for clothing. I first came across this fabric while browsing at a golf store — they had the REV Hoodie from a brand called 7Diamonds. That hoodie is great and comes in many colors. I’ve also recently bought the Modal Shorts from them which are also super comfortable (reminds me of when Tommy Bahama used to be popular and make these great silk shorts in the 2000’s).
It’s interesting because I have come across a number of other Modal items that have appealed to me based on material only to then look at the material and discover they are also Modal. While in Hawaii, I stumbled upon this brand called Maison Wheat which seems to be a brand that sells mainly into Auberge and Four Seasons hotel shops. I think their whole line of apparel is based around Modal and they do a great job of making basics from it (sweats, waffle shirts and tees).
Another brand that has made a product with Modal is Sun Day Red which is Tiger Woods’ brand. I bought their Pacific Luxe crew neck which is probably my favorite item of the season and have recently ordered the quarter-zip as well (QZ’s on the rise from what I hear).
